Provided electrical and mechanical engineering services. The electrical engineering services consisted of design of the security system, telephone/data and public address system for addition and renovation to an existing community center totaling 32,000 sq. ft. The mechanical engineering services consisted of the design of the HVAC system for the administration office, locker/hallway areas and multi-purpose room:


A security system was designed for the renovation and new addition areas. Security System devices included the following:

•Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) Security Cameras

•Dome type Security Cameras

•Motion Detectors

•Card Readers

•Piezo Sirens

•Intrusion/Card Acess Panel

•Keypad & Reader

•Door Contacts


Provided a security system riser diagram indicating wiring and devices such as Ethernet switch, UPS, LAN Switch, DVR, Intrusion/Card Access Panel, Telephone router, etc.


Designed a multi-zone public address system. The zones were divided into the following areas:

•Gymnasium

•Offices & Hallways

•Multi-Purpose Room # 1

•Multi-Purpose Room # 2

•Arts & Crafts Room

•Exercise Room

•Pool

•Game Room 


The system was designed to accept inputs from multiple sources such as microphones located in reception desk, gym, multi-purpose rooms and CD/MP3 Player.  


Provided a riser diagram showing the public address system equipment rack which houses the amplifiers, logic box, digital signal processor, and input sources.


Three different types of speakers were provided throughout the community center as follows:

•Recessed speakers for drop ceilings

•Pendant mounted speakers for open ceilings

•Horn type loudspeakers for gymnasium


The HVAC system consisted of two gas fired packaged roof top units equipped with economizer cycle operation.
