The project consists of a new community center with an approximate area of 15,000 square feet which includes four multipurpose rooms, game room, kitchen, offices and other common areas. Our scope of services included the design and construction phase services for the mechanical system serving the building:
The gas fired packaged roof top units serve various zones of the building. Each multipurpose room is served by a dedicated gas fired roof top unit. The game room and other common areas are served by a dedicated gas fired roof top unit. The ceiling mounted linear slot diffusers were placed close to the large windows in the multipurpose rooms and entry areas. The electric baseboard heaters were also placed under the large windows in the above referenced areas, to provide a better space comfort conditions during the heating season.
The hot water temperatures for the three compartments sink in the kitchen and other plumbing fixtures requiring hot water, grease interceptor size and drain piping were designed in accordance with the requirements of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC).
The construction phase services consisting of review of shop drawings submittals, site visits to observe the construction progress, responses to the contractor’s questions and preparation of punch out list were provided.
