Structural and Mechanical design and construction phase services for a new pre-engineered warehouse and storage building with a gross area of 12,500 sq. ft. The building houses Howard County emergency response vehicles such as ambulances, fire trucks, etc. The heating and ventilation system was designed for the storage building.

• The heating system consisted of propane gas fired unit heaters which were supported from the exterior of the storage building. Gas piping was extended from the unit heaters to a 1000-gallon      aboveground propane storage tank located on concrete pad outside the   building.

• The ventilation system consisted of sidewall outside air intake louvers equipped with motor operated dampers and roof mounted exhaust fans. The exhaust fans and motor operated      dampers of the outside air intake louvers are controlled by wall mounted  thermostats.

• The plumbing  work consisted of the trench drains for each bay with related drain piping leading to the underground oil/sand interceptor located outside the building. The design of the      plumbing system for two restrooms was also performed.

• The sprinkler work consisted of the preparation of the drawings showing the combined  domestic and sprinkler piping service to the building with related notes for backflow preventor, valves, fittings, etc.

• Construction phase services consisting of the review of response to the contractor’s questions, review of shop drawings, etc. was performed.

• Structural design and preparation of drawings and specifications for the concrete  slab-on-grade and foundation system supporting the one-story pre-engineered steel building consisting of a mezzanine structure.
